Amoxicillin Side Effects
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic in the pencillin group of drugs. It is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, bladder infections, ear infections, gonnorhea, sinusitis and E.coli. It is also used in combination with other antibiotic called Clarithromycin to treat stomach ulcers. It will not work for viral infections like flu and cold. Amoxicillin is available under a variety of brand names in many countries. In United states it is available under the brand name Amoxil. You can get this medication as tablets or suspension liquids.

Side effects of Amoxicillin:
Vomitting, nausea, vaginal itching or discharge, headache and diarrhea may occur. Others may light fever, sore throat, changes in taste and loss of appetite. If any of these side effects occur, call your health care provider right away. Below you will find some of the allergic reaction and serious side effects of Amoxicillin.
Serious side effects of Amoxicillin:
- Abdominal pain
- Yellowing of the eyes or skin (Jaundice)
- Dark colored urine
- seizures
- Confusion
- Easy bruising or bleeding
- Diarrhea (bloody)
- Urinating less than usual
- vaginal yeast infection
Allergic reaction: Signs of serious allergic reaction may include swelling of your face, tongue or throat, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.
How to use Amoxicillin:
Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. You can take this medicine with or without food. Antibiotics works best if it is taken at the same time each day. Stopping the medication too early may allow the bacteria to grow. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin or penicillin type antibiotic.
Take this medication with 8 ounce glass of water.
Missed dose: If you miss a dose of Amoxicillin, take it as soon as possible. If it is time for your next dose,then skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
Storage: Store at room temperatures and away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom.
